Here’s a technique for the end of process. Identify what to do differently.
I am not talking about a post mortem. Sometimes those happen. Sometimes the right stakeholders participate and the results are valuable. Sometimes neither.
But you, YOU can choose to look back at the end of each project and identify your one, most important, “Do Diff”
That one part of process, that one stage of decision making, that one mode of interaction.
The right one is usually immediately apparent.
Go right to it. If it makes you uncomfortable, all the better. Look at it from every angle, see why it could have gone better, spend some quality time gaming out what other options would have resulted in.
And then apply what to do differently the next time.
Watch as your outcomes and outputs visibly improve.
